Not sure what type of poly bag you need? You’re not alone.
Whether you are a newly-coined entrepreneur ready to order your first set of custom poly bags, or you’ve been in business for 30 years, it’s important to understand what type of poly bag is necessary for your product. To help our customers in the decision making process, we’ve rounded up what we consider the 5 key questions to ask yourself when choosing a poly bag. Enjoy!
1. What’s the matter (inside of your poly bag)?
First and foremost, what will you be placing inside of your poly bag? The legal requirements for packaging freshly baked chocolate chip cookies are quite different from a set of screws for a kitchen table. For those looking to place food products in the bags, you’re in luck. Most of our clear poly bags are FDA approved! Our bags are also ideal for industrial uses such as carton liners, drum liners, and garbage bags. They can be used for industrial parts, dry goods, liquids, and even aquarium fish!
2. Does strength matter?
How strong do you need the bag to be in order to hold its contents? The thickness of your poly film is called the gauge. The gauge is measured in millimeters and our poly film ranges from 0.00125mils-0.008mils. If you are not sure what you will need, testing is always recommended. We are more than happy to supply samples.
3. Are you customizing your bag?
Oftentimes, business owners want to have their brand name or logo imprinted on the poly bag. To service your needs, Alpine has multi-color printing capabilities for printing up to 12” wide. We also have the ability to print labels for unprinted poly bags.
4. Big or small? We can do it all.
We can customize poly bags to any length that fits your needs, and our width capability spans from 2 inches to 79 inches. We also have the capability to do bottom seal, gusseted, transparent colored film, opaque colored film, and anti-static bags. In addition to your poly needs, we also can supply twist ties in lengths of 4”, 6” and 8”.
5. Maybe you need something other than a bag?
Perhaps a bag isn’t exactly what you’re looking for. We have a solution for you. Poly sheets, poly sleeves, or tubing can be a perfect fit for shipping or storing products such as furniture or pallet covers. Still not sure what you need? We can do special orders, so please contact us if your needs aren’t being met!
